Hotel La Compañía

Destination: Panama

Say “I Do” Where Three Centuries Meet Picture your wedding in a 17th-century Jesuit convent, restored into one of Panama’s most talked-about luxury hotels. Hotel La Compañía is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and fills an entire city block in Casco Viejo, Panama City’s UNESCO-listed old quarter. It has cobblestone charm outside, polished luxury inside and a rooftop pool overlooking the Pacific. It’s romantic and full of character, and it’s about 30 minutes from Panama’s main international airport, so your guests can get there easily.

Accommodations

At La Compañía, you and your guests can choose which era of history to sleep in. The hotel’s 88 rooms and suites are spread across three wings. Each wing comes from a different chapter of Panama’s past: The Spanish Colonial Wing, dating to 1688, is the oldest part of the property, full of original stone and old-world romance. The French Colonial Wing was built by Jesuit priests in 1739 and has the elegance to match. The American Beaux-Arts Wing, from 1905, was once a high-end department store and is now home to stylish Loft Suites.

Every room is individually decorated. Expect pillowtop beds with down comforters, rainfall showers, espresso makers and 55-inch TVs. Many rooms also have private balconies, which are perfect for that first coffee as newlyweds. For the couple, book La Grande Française Suite, the largest on property, with its own living and dining areas. It’s an ideal place to get ready, pop the champagne and make your grand exit.

Amenities

Your guests will have plenty to do between the welcome drinks and the last dance: Five restaurants and two bars keep everyone well fed, from an all-day eatery, bistro and bakery-coffee bar to an Italian restaurant and a steakhouse with an underground wine cellar. The rehearsal dinner practically plans itself.

Up top, the rooftop infinity pool and sky bar offer sweeping views of the city skyline and the Pacific. It’s made for sunset cocktails and next-day recovery lounging. The full-service spa covers pre-wedding pampering with facials and body treatments, whether that’s a bridal party glow-up or a groom’s escape. A 24-hour fitness center is there for anyone sticking to a pre-wedding routine, and concierge, room service and multilingual staff mean someone is always ready to help your guests. Then there’s the location. Step out the door and stroll to plazas, museums, rooftop bars and Panama hat shops in Casco Viejo, with the Panama Canal a short trip away for guests who want to explore.
