If you have ever been a bridesmaid, you know that it’s fun at times, and can be stressful other times. Today we have some secrets to being a bridesmaid that might help ensure that you and the bride have the best time together. Let us know in the comments below if you have any experience being a bridesmaid!
ALWAYS Offer to Help the Bride with ANYTHING
When it comes to secrets to being a bridesmaid, this has to be number one. The maid of honour is sometimes busy with organizing things before the ceremony or helping the wedding planner. Make sure you can help in any way possible.
Do Your Best to Be Low Maintenance
In my experience, I’ve seen a bride get a little worried about some of her bridesmaids. If you are getting your hair and makeup done, have pictures ready and keep it as simple as possible so you aren’t taking up too much time with the artist.
Don’t Be Afraid to Be on Your Good Side for Pictures
Ladies, you know what I am talking about when it comes to pictures. We all know that one side is better than the other for photos, so, make sure you run to the right side when photos are about to start. The only time you shouldn’t care is if you’re on your good side is when it’s with the bride for individual pictures, good luck trying to get the bride to switch.
Watch How Much You Drink
Sometimes when you start getting ready early in the day, it can be easy to start celebrating with your friends. You don’t want to drink too much when you have to walk down the aisle! Slow down, and make sure you keep an eye on how much you are drinking but still have fun!
Eat!
The moment that there is food at the reception, start eating as much as you can. Once the music starts and the bar is open, you won’t want to eat anymore! Eat at the beginning to get through the night so you can remember the night.
Pick the Right Shoes
Coordinate with the bride and the other girls when it comes to picking shoes. You don’t want to pick heels or flats that will either make you look too tall or short in pictures. One of the best things about a destination wedding is that after photos, you can run back to the room and grab shoes to dance in!
Accessories
Lastly, don’t forget about accessories. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to grab some cute matching earrings, bracelets, rings, or even a little clutch. I was unprepared, so make sure you don’t go overboard but have something simple to make your dress standout!
